SONY Corporation was established in May, 1946, which headquarter is located in Tokyo, Japan. SONY Components focus much attention on electronic products, game and leisure industry, such as digital camera, digital video recorder, TV, semiconductor and so on. SONY Components runs sales offices in Kanagawa, miyagi, USA, Switzerland, Hong Kong, UK, Germany, French, Taiwan, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Wuxi and etc.
Their product line includes home audio, digital still cameras, DVD-video players/recorders, digital-broadcasting receiving systems, LCD television, PC, printer system, broadcast , professional use audio/video/monitors and other professional-use equipment ,LCD, CCD and other semiconductors, optical pickups, batteries, audio/video/data recording media, and data recording systems. They have received the 2009 Good Design Gold Award, iF product design award 2010, 2009 red dot design award, Industrial Design Excellence Awards, Design for Asia Award, Japan Manual Awards, National Commendation for Invention, Japan Package Design Award.
Sony Corporation is the electronics business unit and the parent company of the Sony Group. It primarily conducts strategic business planning of the group, research and development (R&D), planning, designing and marketing for electronics products. Its subsidiaries such as Sony EMCS Corporation, Sony Semiconductor Corporation and Sony Chemical & Information Device Corporation are responsible for manufacturing as well as product engineering and R&D for mass production (Sony EMCS is also responsible for customer service operations). In 2012, Sony incorporated rolled most of its consumer content services (including video, music, and gaming) into the Sony Entertainment Network.
As of 1 April 2012, Sony is organized into the following business segments: Imaging Products & Solutions (IP&S), Game, Mobile Products & Communications (MP&C), Home Entertainment & Sound (HE&S), Devices, Pictures, Music, Financial Services and All Other.[26] The network and medical businesses are included in the All Other. Sony offers a number of products in a variety of product lines around the world.[25] Sony has developed a music playing robot called Rolly, dog-shaped robots called AIBO, humanoids, and QRIO.
